§ 12-21. Definitions
The following definitions apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this article:
Abandoned major appliance: Any refrigerator, freezer, range, machinery or other metal, tin or other discarded item which is not operable or in use, and which is so damaged or dismantled as to be a total loss and not worth the cost of repair.
Junked, wrecked or used automobile or motor vehicle: Any motor vehicle which is totally inoperable and which has been left unattended on any unused portion of an occupied lot, neutral ground, vacant lot, highway, road, street or sidewalk, and is so damaged or dismantled as to be a total loss.
Total loss: The cost to repair a damaged or dismantled motor vehicle exceeds its junk value, as determined by any recognized national appraisal book.
