§ 2-21. Compensation and expenses of police jury

  • (a) Salary. The members of the police jury shall be compensated by a salary in the amount of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) per month, and the president's salary shall be nine hundred dollars ($900.00) per month.

    (b) Expenses. The members of the police jury shall be compensated, upon warrant of the president, by the same mileage allowance as provided to state elected officials going to and from the courthouse for each day of attendance at each session of the police jury. Members also may be compensated by the same mileage allowance for every day they are actually employed in the service of the parish and for travel outside the parish on parish business. The mileage allowance provided in this subsection shall not be paid to any member who has the use of a parish-owned vehicle for the conduct of official business.
