§ 6.5-2. Advisory board—Created; functions and duties

  • Established also shall be the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury Office of Community Services Advisory Board whose function it shall be to advise the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury and its office of community services in the development and implementation of programs designed to serve the poor and other citizens of Natchitoches Parish. The board upon reasonable advance notice shall make recommendations to the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury concerning the exercise of police jury powers employed to conduct programs pursuant to this chapter. The board shall assist the police jury by providing guidelines for enforcement of such rules, standards and policies as are adopted from time to time or prescribed by funding agencies to conduct such programs. A primary purpose of the board shall be to function as a continuing and effective mechanism for securing broad community involvements in programs conducted pursuant to this chapter.
