(a) Created; boundaries. Fire Protection District No. 10 of the Parish of Natchitoches, State of Louisiana,
is hereby created and shall encompass all of that territory situated within the following
boundaries, to wit:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 31, T-10-N, R-8-W, said point also being
the range line common to R-8-W and R-9-W; thence, east along the southern boundaries
of Sections 31 and 32, T-10-N, R-8-W to the intersection of Flat River; thence, in
a meandering northeasterly direction along the midchannel line of Flat River to the
intersection with Bayou Pierre; thence along the midchannel line of Bayou Pierre to
its intersection with Red River; thence, in a northwesterly direction along the midchannel
line of Red River to its intersection with the Natchitoches Parish boundary line in
Section 44, T-11-N, R-9-W; thence, in a northwesterly and then southwesterly direction
along the boundary line separating Natchitoches Parish and Red River Parish to its
intersection with the northern boundary of Section 3, T-10-N, R-9-W: thence, east
along the northern boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, T-10-N, R-9-W, to the intersection
with the range line common to R-S-W and R-9-W; thence, south along said range line
to the southwest corner of Section 31, T-10-N, R-8-W. said point being the point of
beginning.
(b) Alternative name. Henceforth Fire Protection District No. 10 shall also be known as the Powhatan Fire
Protection District.
