§ 16-5. Use of parish bin sites by City of Natchitoches residents prohibited; penalty for violation

  • (a) Residents of the City of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and any citizens whose residence is any parish/county other than Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, are hereby prohibited from disposing of any solid waste at parish bin sites including, but not limited to, the following:

    (1) Garbage;

    (2) Trash/limbs/leaves/stumps or any other wood waste;

    (3) Construction or demolition debris;

    (4) Roofing materials of any kind;

    (5) Wire/fence posts/lumber.

    (b) Any person who violates any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined by the presiding judge in an amount not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00). Upon a conviction of a second offense of any of the provisions of this section, the offender shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00). Upon conviction of a third offense of any of the provisions of this section, the offender shall be fined not less than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00). In addition to the fines set forth above, the sentencing judge may, at his discretion, and as an additional penalty, order the offender to pick up garbage or trash within a defined area as designated by the judge.
