Article I. In General |
§ 16-3. Private garbage collectors
(a) Permit—Required; fee. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of providing a private garbage collection service within consolidated garbage district No. 1 without first having obtained a permit therefor. The annual fee for such permit shall be five dollars ($5.00) for each vehicle used for providing a private garbage collection service.
(b) Same—Where obtained. Permits for the operation of a garbage collection service may be obtained from the office of the secretary-treasurer of the police jury.
(c) Location of waste disposal. It shall be unlawful for any person engaged in the business of collection of garbage, brush, tree limbs and stumps, yard trash, construction materials or debris, appliances, vehicle tires or dead animals to dispose of the solid waste collected by such business in any location other than the parish sanitary landfill. The use of roadside bins for the disposal of such waste by operators of private garbage collection business is prohibited.
